1. BEST PRICE GUARANTEE: if it is lower than ours, Wissahickon Walkers will match the published price of any competing service in Philadelphia.
  2. BEST SERVICE GUARANTEE: if you’re not completely satisfied with our service, it’s on us.
  3. Emergency home visits and key services are only available to established clients who have provided copies of necessary keys in advance.
  4. For maximum safety during transport, all dogs must wear a harness that can be buckled in or be inside a size-appropriate crate that will be tied down. All other animals, including cats, must be in a size-appropriate crate or cage that will be tied down.
  5. During severe weather, we may have to adjust scheduled appointment times to accommodate increased travel time.
  6. The pet transportation service will be suspended when roads are impassable or dangerous.
  7. Unless your dog really doesn’t like the rain or snow, exercise hikes and neighborhood walks are only cancelled during severe or dangerous weather conditions.
  8. If a walk or visit must be cancelled because of an Act of Nature, you will receive future credit or a refund (your choice).
  9. If you go on vacation or away from home for longer than 24 hours, a minimum of one half-hour home visit per day for cats and two half-hour home visits per day for adult dogs is/are required for the animals’ well-being. We recommend three for dogs and two for cats. Puppies and very young kittens usually require more than two visits a day with the frequency determined by age and progress in training. With the weekly rate, every fifth home visit on a weekday is free.
  10. We reserve the right to limit or refuse service to aggressive animals.
  11. We reserve the right to limit or refuse service in areas, at times, or in situations that appear unsafe or risky to Wissahickon Walkers staff or the animals in our care.
  12. We cannot guarantee the safety of indoor-outdoor cats if you leave them outside when you are away.
  13. Please inform us of any cancellations as soon as possible and at least 24 hours in advance.
  14. Weekly rates are only applicable when five home visits or exercise hikes are scheduled on Monday through Friday of the same calendar week. Weekly rates are not available during the weeks of New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.
  15. Payment is due at time of service.
  16. We accept cash, checks, and secure online PayPal payments.
  17. To cover extra time and transportation costs, an hourly out-of-service-area charge is applied to the time we spend driving to and from a visit or walk outside of our service area. This fee is waived for two- and three-hour exercise hikes.

  19. Wissahickon Walkers is deeply committed to the health of our environment. We re-use degradable plastic shopping bags for poop scooping. We make every attempt to minimize our time spent driving. If we can get to your house by foot or bike, we will. If we can safely walk to a park from your home rather than driving, we will. Our vehicle meets strict European and Californian standards to qualify as a PZEV (practically zero emission vehicle), gets close to 30 mpg, and comes equipped with rear passenger and side-curtain airbags.
